It is recommended to give the child a low-dose painkiller (e.g. paracetamol) according to the doctor&#039;s instructions.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Recovery:<\/b> Superficial injuries usually heal within 2\u20133 weeks. If the wound has not healed within this time, it is a good idea to contact your doctor again.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><hr data-path-to-node=\"11\" \/><p data-path-to-node=\"12\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Remember:<\/b> If you are unsure about the severity of a burn, always call a professional (e.g. Emergency Services 116 117) or seek medical attention.
