The condition will improve on its own by the end of growth at the latest.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD):<\/b> \u00a0<b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"35\">Symptoms:<\/b> Aching pain in the knee, especially when bending, sometimes swelling.<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"10,1,1\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,1,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,1,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Reason:<\/b> Change in the cartilage-bone area<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,1,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,1,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Care:<\/b> Often, just monitoring and rest are enough.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Anterior knee pain (Chondromalacia patellae-type symptom):<\/b> \u00a0<b data-path-to-node=\"10,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"63\">Symptoms:<\/b> Vague pain in the front of the knee when running or sitting for a long time (e.g. in the car or at the movies).<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"10,2,1\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"10,2,1,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,2,1,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Care:<\/b> The pain is often transient and eases over time.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p>In young children under school age, the causes are different and it is sometimes difficult to determine where on the limb the pain is located. The cause may be an injury, synovitis, etc.\u00a0<\/p><hr data-path-to-node=\"11\" \/><h3 data-path-to-node=\"12\">When should you see a doctor?<\/h3><p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Most temporary knee pain will improve within a few days with rest.
